Cat Cocktails

June 4, 2015

Cat CocktailsAmanda wants to do drinkies that relate to June’s holidays, but not the ones you’re thinking. Today, evidently, is “Hug Your Cat Day,” “Old Maid’s Day,” and “Applesauce Cake Day.” It’s also Rose Month, which goes pretty well with what we can do.

Floral is one of those flavors people think of as all sweet girly drinks, but there are flowers in Vermouth, Bitters, Liqueurs, and a bunch of other booze. That’ll be the base for tonight, but I still think you should make Amanda do a cocktail in honor of hugging your cat. Please let me know how that goes. Let’s say 6ish.

Love You,

French Cocktails

French Cocktails

Amanda and DJ Kingblind wanted to get all Frenchy/retro for the music this week, so she’s in charge of matching up the cocktails this week, which means some AWESOME booze.

Crème Yvette (French violet liqueur), St. Germain Elderflower, Bitter Amer for your whiskey drinks, some of the best Vermouth in the world, and Cognac gives her and lovely Rachel a lot to play with.

French 75 w/French Grapefruit Hooch, French Mule w/blackberry hooch… Possibilities are mostly endless. Them French know how to make good booze. Let’s say, 6ish?

Teabagged Cocktails

Tea Cocktails

Name something that has a huge, rich culinary history and incredible range of flavors and importance that most people think is boring as s**t: It’s a drink. British like it. It’s in Honeybush and Red Rickey and…

Ah, screw it; It’s tea.

Jordan and Amanda are infusing vermouth, booze, syrups, and possibly ice with a wide range of tea to take this over the top.

“But Old Man Johnson, I like Manhattans, not just fruity stuff…”

Well, good. Lapsang will make it sing. So will green tea in the vermouth. And Hibiscus in the bitters. You sea where I’m going. Please believe me. I love you.

Thursday night, 6ish.

Cocktails Squished By Feet

Sexy Grape Cocktails
Y’all are telling me Jordan’s doing goooood with the whole “Make me something good! Yay!” So I’m gonna go ahead and throw him to the lions (uh, you) again, with stuff that sounds boring but isn’t. ISN’T! Pinky swear.

That thing is…grapes. That means Manhattan style drinks with different styles of Vermouth. It also means Cognac. And Armagnac. And Pisco. And Amontillado. In other words, you’re gonna be happy.

You just didn’t think about grapes that way before. But they’re, well, they’re… sexy. You know where (uh, Feedback Lounge) and you know when (like, 6ish?).

Absinthe Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

March 20, 2014

Wormwood

You what sounds delicious on a cold or hot or really any day? Wormwood. I mean, it just SOUNDS delicious. Like…well, an old, um, piece of wood crawling with… Yeah, scratch what I just said. It sounds ishy.

But, it’s been an ingredient in booze for hundreds of years. Vermouth, translated, means Wormwood. It’s in Absinthe. And also other stuff, probably. It’ll certainly be in cocktails, which we’ll make and you’ll drink. That’s how it works.

Tonight, 7ish. Love you.
