Movie Cocktails

June 25, 2015
Movie Cocktails

Our lovely Amanda and Heather are doing a little cross-promo for the return of our Monday night Cocktail Cinema, and they’re putting some delicious brain-thought into it.

I’m coming in for this Thursday night myself, cuz a.) they sound delicious, and b.) we have some killer A/C and I’m becoming a sissy when it comes to the heat at night. Plus, I miss you all like the flowers miss the rain.

For example:
• a Damiana cocktail inspired by Spinal Tap’s “Sex Farm”
• a sazarac for the Blues Brother song “New Orleans”
• an elevated bluegrass cocktail for the O Brother Where Art Thou Soggy Bottom Boys band
• an elevated sparkling New Zealand cocktail with passion fruit, grand marnier, and persecco for Flight of the Conchord’s song “Foux di Fafa”
• The Jeffery, inspired by Aldous Snow in Get Him To The Greek with kiwi, mint, lime, and tequila.

I also bet, without even checking with H and A, that they can come up with other drinks based on your movie favorites. They may be mad at me for that. I apologize in advance.

See you Thursday night, and hugs.

The Root of Cocktails

March 12, 2015

The Root of Cocktails

Amanda and Jordan, in their infinite wisdom, haven’t plumbed the depths of that magical family of dried leaves and roots and stuff. So they’re gonna tie it in even further.

You like Chartreuse? A lot of the ingredients could be classified as tea. Fernet? Same. Mint? Orange Oil? Cinnamon? Vanilla? On and on, my pretty birds.

You trust these guys to do it right for you, and they will. They love you all very much. Tonight, 6-ish.

Huggy,

Minted Cocktails

Mint Cocktails

I was gonna say my fascination with mint started with mint chocolate chip ice cream when I was a kid, but really? Doublemint Gum commercials when I was 13 is REALLY when it took off. If you’re old enough, that’ll make sense.

Now that I’m a booze geek, it’s hard to NOT put mint in more stuff. No muddling necessary, by the way. You can even use Fernet, Amaro, Menthe, and some gins to get your mint fix. So, yeah, let’s do that. Tonight around 7ish, k?

Thanks.
