Blues For A Wet Spring

May 5, 2014

Blues To Do Live

The depressing weather around here lately is the kind of stuff good blues was made for. That said, the blues always makes you feel better, regardless of lousy outdoor conditions. Here’s the May 2014 BLUES TO DO LIVE line-up:
(Note: The above poster is an homage to
Delta Blues: Cigar Box Jukes, an incredible collection of three-string Delta Blues, available on Amazon.com]

MICHELE D’AMOUR & THE BLUES DEALERS
TUESDAY, May 6th – 8PM

A new group with some experienced players backing up a robust vocalist in Michele, bringing upbeat original blues plus some great old Chicago covers and more.

THE GREG ROBERTS BAND
TUESDAY, May 13th – 8PM
An old soul blues master, Greg Roberts has his feet well planted in some of that Mississippi mud. With that deep and wonderfully gravely voice of his, Greg delivers a very entertaining night of Americana with lots of blues.

THE CHARLES WHITE BAND REVUE
TUESDAY, May 20th – 8PM
What a stellar line-up: CWB alumni Scott E. Lind, John Savage, Bill Blackstone, plus drummer, Russ Kammerer and bassist, Don King, and special guest vocalist Charles’ nephew, Donny White. Come get a night with one of the finest R&B show bands in Seattle.

KIMBALL CONANT & THE FUGITIVES
featuring STICKSHIFT ANNIE
TUESDAY, May 20th – 8PM
A West Seattle native and brother to Northwest guitar icon Dave Conant, Kimball has his own rootsy sound and some of Dave’s iconic influence, which can’t help but to seep through. Annie brings the feminine touch and the Fugitives have been playing with her for many years and shows – so many, they could probably do it with their eyes closed.

Blues To Do-TV airs Fridays at 7pm on ch.23/77 on Comcast in King Co./Seattle or ch. 23 on Broadstripe and repeats Saturdays at midnight / Tuesdays at 2PM.

This also streams live at those times at seattlecommunitymedia.org. See past shows at http://www.bluestodo.com
