March 26, 2014

Blues To Do Live

Now starting our third month of weekly live blues shows, here’s the April 2014 BLUES TO DO LIVE line-up…

TIM TURNER BAND
special guest ERIC “TWO SCOOPS” MOORE
TUESDAY, APRIL 1st – 8PM
Eric “Two Scoops” Moore brings more recycled art, fresh poems and boogie woogie piano. headlining this show is The Tim Turner Band. Tim is an excellent entertainer, having hosted the longest running blues jam in West Seattle as well as decades of leading successful Seattle rock/blues bands.

ELNAH JORDAN
with RON WEINSTEIN
special guest SETH FREEMAN
TUESDAY, APRIL 8th – 8PM
Elnah Jordan – vocalist with Jon Hendricks from Lambert, Hendricks & Ross in San Francisco, is now one of Seattle’s strongest jazz, blues and gospel artists leading her own show, The Elnah Jordan Experience. Elnah was also in last December’s Black Nativity show with Pat Wright & The Total Experience Gospel Choir. Very special guest is Ron Weinstein, long-time Hammond organist/pianist in the Seattle area with plenty of mojo and vibe to go at 70+ years old.

SETH FREEMAN BAND
special guest ERIC “TWO SCOOPS” MOORE
TUESDAY, APRIL 15th – 8PM
This night will bring together the art, poems and piano of “Two Scoops” Moore, plus The Seth Freeman Band tearing it up as he leads his rhythm section into a fun, sweaty good time for those of you sweating your taxes.

PAUL GREEN & BRIAN BUTLER
special guests SETH FREEMAN & JOEL TEPP
TUESDAY, APRIL 22nd – 8PM
Paul Green is one of Seattle’s finest harmonica players, with Chicago roots and solid rhythm, plus great vocal phrasing that sets him up for jazz and blues collaborations. He so impressed the Washington Blues Society that they named their Best Harmonica category the “Paul Green Harmonica Award”, which he had a history of winning before that.

Brian Butler is a favorite long time Seattle blues guitarist having played with other big bands and leading his own, plus as a solo for years at all the major blues clubs and events, writing clever original songs and singing in a slightly dusty tone that invites you to listen. Add Seth Freeman’s magical lap steel, and Joel Tepp on his sweet clarinet and the players will all be talkin’ about it long afterwards.

MILES FROM CHICAGO
special guest TERI DERR
TUESDAY, APRIL 29th – 8PM
Great contemporary blues with a great reputation for a fun night of blues music led by Mark Bushbeck on guitar/vocals, along with special guest vocalist/songwriter, Teri Derr, who brings her upbeat originals and solid vocals, again, with decades of entertaining experience and blues to spare.

BLUES TO DO LIVE is recorded for TV and streaming live on the internet, every Tuesday night, 8PM and is hosted by MARLEE WALKER, Queen of Seattle Blues for the last thee decades.
